Our Team

Johanna Ross is the founder and CEO of Island Mist. After graduating from Bard College and Bank Street College of Education, Johanna taught in Manhattan before moving to Block Island. She trained with Susan Clements to become a certified herbalist and opened Island Mist.

+40 years in corporate marketing at Coca-Cola, Mastercard, GE and BNP Paribas. Chris rose to the CMO level, with the creation of brands (PowerAde, @Coke), campaigns (Priceless, @MC), websites (GEFN, @GE) and Corporate Brand Strategies (Go West, @BNPP).

+20 years experience in healthcare, with previous roles in law, finance, private equity. Raised +$50m as CFO of two (2) large international specialty pharma companies. Currently, advise start-ups and mid-market companies on capital formation and deployment strategies.

Holly Herdman moved to Block Island in the fall of 2016. She is an entrepreneur and passionate about helping small business owners thrive. She has been using Island Mist products on her sensitive skin for almost a decade and believes there is truly nothing better on the market.

Cristina Gil moved to Block Island from the Dominican Republic when she was 6 years old. She has been a member of the Island Mist team for 6 years now. Cristina is also an early childhood teacher and has worked at the early learning center on Block Island, where her daughter is currently enrolled.

Hailey Wilson grew up in Connecticut and moved to Block Island 7 years ago and has been with Island mist for 6 years now. As a master photographer, videographer and gardener she has become an invaluable member of the Island Mist team, helping Johanna in every area of the business.
